Wearing Warm Weather Clothes

Warm weather brings a lot to the table: more time spent outside, more travel, and with that often less clothes. Wearing shorts, tank tops, swimsuits, etc. can be really uncomfortable for you, especially if you struggle with disordered eating, comparison or body dysmorphia. The social media noise of "beach bodies" doesn't usually help either.  Here are a few things to keep in mind if you are feeling overwhelmed.

  1. All bodies are built differently. Period. Genetics play a huge role in your body shape and size and odds are you aren't ever going to look like your friend from college, your best friend, your sibling, or anyone else for that matter!

  2. You don’t have to wear clothes that you are uncomfortable in. Going to the beach but don’t want to tackle the beast of swimsuit shopping? Find a comfortable pair of t-shirt and shorts and rock it!

  3. Look for lighter, looser fabrics that let you move in your body and compliment your skin/hair color.  Linen pieces and lighter colors in the summer are a nice change to the darker colors worn in winter.  And, dri-fit is a great option for movement and t-shirt dresses can be dressed up or down!

Here at Radiant Nutrition we believe that all bodies are good bodies. Reach out if you want some extra help navigating this season.
